Australia: Samsung smart TVs adding adverts to programs, say viewers

  • Samsung’s smart TVs continue to be in the news, after viewers complained that they add adverts to films and TV programs that are played through third party apps.

    A company spokesperson said that such complaints had only been received from Australia so far.

    The glitch comes after it was revealed that the smart TVs' voice recognition technology may capture conversations made in front of the television sets and send them to third parties. 

    The Samsung spokesperson said the company was “conducting a full and thorough investigation” into the advert issue.
