UK has no right to ban athletes, says Syrian Olympic Committee

  • The Syrian Olympic Committee has said the UK has no right to ban their athletes from taking part in the London 2012 Olympics.

This comes after Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said Syrian delegation members with connections to President Bashar al-Assad’s regime would be denied entry.

His comments follow the Syrian government’s denial of being involved in the massacre of 108 civilians in the town of Houla.

According to the United Nations, 49 of those killed were children.
