Olympic torch walks in space
November 11 , 2013
The Sochi Olympic torch was taken outside of the International Space Station for a two-hour-long spacewalk.
Russian cosmonauts Sergey Ryazanskiy and Oleg Kotov were the ones who handled the historic torch during that time period.
It went into the great unknown Thursday morning for some photo ops and is expected to return back to Earth on Monday.
"Our goal is to make it look spectacular," Kotov said. "We'd like to showcase our Olympic torch in space. We will try to do it in a beautiful manner. Millions of people will see it live on TV and they will see the station and see how we work."
