Man convicted in murder of Redskins star
November 6 , 2013
A 23-year-old man has been convicted of second-degree murder in the killing of Sean Taylor.
The Washington Redskins star was killed in 2007 during an armed burglary. It took the South Florida jury several days to reach its verdict in the case of Eric Rivera Jr.
Rivera was only 17 years of age at the time of the burglary but was tried as an adult. He confessed to the police that he shot Taylor but said at the trial that he never even went inside and that the trial was improperly coerced.
Four other men have been charged and the others are expected to face trial later.
