Drummer and 'fifth Beatle' Andy White dies, aged 85

  • Andy White, who played drums for the American version of the famous Beatles’ song "Love Me Do", has died at the age of 85.

    White, who was one among a group of musicians called the “fifth Beatle”, had suffered a stroke last week.

    Originally from Scotland, he played drums when the legendary band recorded “Love Me Do" in 1962. It went on to top the US charts when it was released in America in 1964.
