Disney tweaks rules on disabled
September 27 , 2013
People with disabilities no longer have an advantage over the rest at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. After people began to abuse the system, Disney decided to issue visitors with a return time and a shorter wait, which is offered to everyone.
Currently, Disney offers its visitors who cannot wait in line to get back door access or to wait in a shorter line.
The changes come as it was discovered that people pay money to the disabled tour guides to help them avoid the long lines. Since no proof of disability is required, people who are able-bodied have been getting assistance cards.
The changes will take effect on Oct. 9 and Disney said it will provide more information as the date approaches.
