Broadway actress Elaine Stritch dies at 89

  • Elaine Stritch, a Broadway actress, has died in Michigan. She was 89.

    Known for her role in the television series Two's Company, she was an Emmy and Tony award winner. 

    Her acting career started in the 1940s with roles in several stage productions. She was nominated for five Tony awards.

    She worked in films too, including Woody Allen's Small Time Crooks.

    At her farewell concert in April 2013, Stritch said it was going to be hard “to turn my back on you guys…but I have to.”
