Two fruit firms merge to create the world's biggest

Two fruit supply companies, namely Chiquita of the US and Fyffes of Ireland have agreed to merge in order to create a big banana firm, which would ship over 160M crates all around the globe.
Fyffes is known to be the biggest banana importer in Europe and dates back to 1929. It's chairman is expected to become the chief executive officer of the new company and the chief executive of Chiquita will become its chairman.
A regulatory and shareholder approval is being waited on before the deal is finalized.
