No bailout extension: Greece misses IMF payment deadline
July 1 , 2015
Greece missed a key deadline for a €1.6 billion payment to the IMF after ministers from the eurozone rejected an extension of its bailout.
However, the eurozone ministers said that a request from the Alexis Tsipras government for a fresh two-year bailout will be discussed.
Crisis-hit Greece has become the first advanced economy to fail to repay an IMF loan amid fears that this could lead to its exit from the single currency.
