Fears that there could be tax hikes and spending cuts in government expenditure have led retailers to offer very low discounts and shoppers to be very cautious in the last weekend before Christmas. The Saturday before Christmas is usually the busiest and last-minute shoppers across the country head to malls and markets to pick up all their gifts and seasonal items with discounts and promotions becoming big. Washington’s inability to come to a conclusive decision over America’s economic woes has the nation in a worry.
