Fast food strikes return and Obama speaks up in their favor
December 6 , 2013
Fast food workers are going to be striking in 100 cities today and protestors in another 100 cities will call for higher wages for the lowest paid workers in the country.
This movement began last year in New York and has substantially grown since. The living wage debate is heating up now like never before. The head of the Service Employees International Union said "there's growing recognition that a nerve has been touched."
President Obama himself said in a speech yesterday that these employees work so hard but are "still living barely above poverty."
