Cyber criminals in Russia await for smartphone users to click on strange links as a part of their business, which employs thousands of people.
According to a new research, at least 60 percent of a complex Russian malware industry is made up of ten mobile malware business in Russia with startup-like behavior. The criminals look to reach customers that don't suspect and hire thousands of employees to advertise their malware.
This trade is Russia is extremely profitable as well as organized, according to mobile security provider Lookout's senior research and response engineer, Ryan Smith. He said the criminals earn a large amount of profit through the marketing and distribution of their malware. Some of them even make up to $12,000 a month.
