Child labor allegations: Samsung suspends China supplier
July 14 , 2014
Samsung, the world’s biggest maker of smartphones, has suspended business ties with a supplier from China for hiring child labor, reports said.
The South Korean firm gave possible proof of illegal hiring and child labour at the Chinese firm, Dongguan Shinyang Electronics, for the suspension.
A labor watchdog based in New York had earlier come out with a report saying that the Chinese supplier had hired more than five minors. Samsung had promised to urgently examine the issue.
