Zimbabwe Minister Defends Elephant Exports

Zimbabwe's Environment Minister shows opposition for country's practice of catching pubescent elephants and put them up for sale to zoos and parks. As per the reports, Zimbabwe is tackling a "massive overstocking" of elephants. The Minister of Zimbabwe, Mangaliso Ndlovu says that the population of elephants are going down significantly except for the Southern African region, " ... and yet the world is trying to teach this very region how to conserve its wildlife ...". A popular news portal, CNN reports that Zimbabwean officials are "legally capturing elephants" in Hwange National Park and shipping off to China.
