Yemen conflict: Over 40 killed as 'Houthi rebels target Aden'
July 20 , 2015
Shelling by Shia Houthi rebels in Yemen has killed more than 40 people in the southern port city of Aden, officials have claimed. Around 120 people have reportedly been injured in the bombardment as forces loyal to the government try to consolidate their hold over the Yemini city, most of which they recaptured last week.
Aden has witnessed intense clashes between rebel and pro-government forces in the past few months.
A rebel commander denied targeting the city, but other reports indicate that the shelling came from Houthi-controlled areas.
