WHO releases new report regarding alcohol
May 13 , 2014
The World Health Organization has revealed that alcohol kills about 3.3 million people around the globe each year. The number is particularly surprising since lesser number of deaths are caused by tuberculosis, violence, and AIDS combined.
According to the UN, drinking is on the rise in nations that haven't been associated with high levels of consumption. The WHO wants the government to make an effort in order "to protect populations from the negative health consequences of alcohol consumption," according to media reports.
The organization suggested the government should increase prices in order to decrease demand.
