White House Press Secretary asked to Leave Restaurant as She Works for an "Inhuman and Unethical Administration"

  • White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was asked by the co-owner Stephanie Wilkinson of Lexington’s (Virginia) farm-to-table Red Hen restaurant to leave as she believed Sanders worked for an "inhumane and unethical" administration. The co-owner took the decision after reportedly talking to the staffs of the restaurant. In fact, the incident took place just days after Homeland Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was booed in a Washington DC restaurant. These recent cases happened amid the US President’s “zero tolerance” policy towards immigrants coming through the US-Mexican border and the consequent decision to separate migrant children from their families. In a tweet, Sarah Sanders said she left the restaurant politely and will continue treating people with dignity despite disagreeing with them.
