We will not be intimidated, says Canada's prime minister
October 23 , 2014
Canada’s prime minister Stephen Harper pledged a tough response to the gun attack on the Parliament, saying that the country would not be intimidated.
The prime minister spoke to the nation after a gunman, Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, targeted the parliament after managing to get in, and killed a soldier. The gunman was later shot and killed by an officer.
Harper said the event was “a grim reminder” that the country was not immune to spectacular terror attacks, describing it as an attack “on our country, on our values, on our society”.
