Venezuela: At least 68 dead in Carabobo fire

  • At least 68 have been killed due to rioting and fire at a police station in the Venezuelan city of Valencia, Carabobo, on Wednesday. According to reports, the blaze was caused because the prisoners set fire to mattresses in an attempt to break out. Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd gathered around the station after hearing the news of the blaze. A police officer had been shot in the aftermath of the blaze. As per the higher officials, further investigation is being carried out with regards to the matter.
