US to compensate victims of Kunduz hospital bombing
October 11 , 2015
The Pentagon will compensate victims of the US airstrike on a hospital in Afghanistan’s Kunduz town that killed at least 22 staff and patients a week ago.
The US says the strike on the Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) hospital was a mistake, but MSF has described the attack as a "war crime" and demanded an international probe.
According to a Pentagon spokesperson, the Department of Defence believed it was “important to address the consequences of the tragic incident” at the Kunduz hospital.
