US Judge is Expected to Issue Ruling on Uniting Separated Migrant Children by Middle of Next Week

  • U.S. District Court Judge Dana Sabraw in San Diego said a ruling order asking the US government for reuniting separated immigrant children with their family could be given during middle of next week. American Civil Liberties Union’s (ACLU) lawyer Lee Gelernt asked the federal judge on Friday to issue an injunction and force the US government to reunite children with their families. The lawyer called it a humanitarian crisis and asked the federal court issue order and force government in reuniting all separated children with their families. U.S. District Court Judge Dana Sabraw has asked ACLU’s lawyer to file papers by 9 in the morning (PDT). She also asked the government lawyer to respond by Wednesday (4 pm PDT). The ruling will be issued shortly after she receives the briefing.
