US, Iran resume another round of talks over latter's nuclear program
February 23 , 2015
US secretary of state John Kerry and Iran’s foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met in Geneva on Sunday in an attempt to narrow differences as the two countries seek to reach an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program before the March-end deadline.
Ernest Moniz, the US energy secretary, and Ali Akbar Salehi, the Iranian nuclear chief, met separately to negotiate technical details.
Zarif was later quoted as saying that the US saw sanctions as a “lever to exert pressure on Iran”, adding that it would be difficult to reach an agreement until “this thinking persists”.
