Ukraine: US considers supplying arms to fight pro-Russian rebels; Kerry to hold talks in Kiev
February 5 , 2015
Secretary of state John Kerry will hold talks in Ukraine as the US considers supplying weapons to help the Ukrainian government fight pro-Russia separatists.
So far the US has given non-lethal aid to Kiev.
Kerry’s visit comes as Nato is all set to unveil a major mobilization plan, which the organization has called the biggest “since the end of the Cold War”.
Ashton Carter, who is likely to be the new US defense secretary, has indicated that he is “very much inclined” to send arms to Ukraine.
