The Ugandan army has captured a senior commander in the rebel Lord’s Resistance Army.
Caesar Achellam was apprehended on Saturday after a struggle between Ugandan soldiers and a group of 30 rebels.
The commander and top rebel military strategist was captured in the Central African Republic, one of several nations in which the 200 to 500 member LRA operates in.
The most wanted LRA member is leader Joseph Kony, whose notoriety has spiked in recent months due to the online Kony 2012 video campaign, which has been watched by millions across the globe.
Kony is wanted by the International Criminal Court for rape, mutilations and murder of civilians as well as for recruiting children as soldiers and sex slaves.
