Uganda tabloid lists top homosexuals

  • Uganda's president recently signed a bill, making homosexuality publishable by law. A tabloid called Red Pepper published a list of gay Ugandans with the headline "EXPOSED! Uganda's 200 Top Homos Named."

The list was accompanied was some pictures and includes the names of those that were not openly gay.

President Yoweri Museveni told CNN that he thinks gays are disgusting. "I've been told recently that what they do is terrible," he said. "But I was ready to ignore that if there was proof that that's how he is born, abnormal. But the proof is not there."

His statement comes after scientists in the county found that homosexuality is "learned" and genetics don't play a role in it.

The White House has criticized the law and is reviewing its ties with Uganda.
