Two Avalanches Swept Away Nearly Six People in Austria

On Sunday morning, a large avalanche swept away more than five people in upper Austria. As per the local police, nearly five bodies were recovered from the avalanche which began 2,800 metres (9,200 feet) up. The victims of the accident is believed to be from Czech Republic. The rescue workers are searching the site however, no other bodies are found so far, confirmed by team leader of the Dachstein range Christopher Preimesberger told a leading news agency. Another avalanche which took place in the southern Carinthia region on the Grossglockner peak killed a police officer while taking part in a training exercise.
