Tunisia: Security forces 'kill five terrorists' as tourists continue to leave country
July 13 , 2015
The Tunisian government has said that a top terrorist has been killed in a security operation.
Interior minister Najem Gharsalli said that Mourad Gharsalli, the leader of the Oqba Ibn Nafaa brigade, which is linked to the al-Qaeda, was among five terrorists killed by security forces.
The government’s announcement came amid an exodus of European tourists from the country.
A terror attack on Tunisia’s Sousse resort in June killed 38 people, most of them British tourists.
