Trump Meets Pope Francis and Italian Leaders in Italy

  • As per reports, US President Donald Trump reached Italy on Tuesday to meet Pope Francis and Italian leaders. The meeting will take place on Wednesday.

Trump’s meeting with Pope Francis comes after both of them argued at a distance on issues that included migration, climate change and Islam.

Trump will be spending less than 24 hours in Italy before he flies to Brussels to have talks with European Union and NATO chiefs. On Thursday he will come back to Italy to attend a summit of the Group of Seven (G7) major industrialized countries in Sicily.

The White House hopes that Trump’s multi-nation trip will help in shifting focus from domestic controversies on to foreign policy.
