Teens get closer to polar bear for a selfie
May 25 , 2014
The Toronto Star reports that two students went closer to a polar bear club during a high school field trip in order to take a photo since "it looked lonely," one of them said.
The students took snaps as well as a video and the bear even licked Samuel Gonzalez' hand through the fence before an employee at the zoo asked them to go away.
The incident wouldn't have become popular if Gonzalez hadn't posted the video on social media, causing his family, his school and the zoo to be angry. "Teenagers always think they are right when they are wrong," his mother said. Reports suggest that the zoo is investigating and doesn't plan on getting the authorities involved.
