Syrian crisis: Kerry in Geneva to bolster Syrian ceasefire

May 2, 2016: John Kerry, the US Secretary of State, has arrived in Geneva in a bid to strengthen the ceasefire in Syria. Kerry would be holding talks about the situation in Syria with Staffan de Mistura, the UN envoy to Syria, and the foreign ministers of Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Media reports quoted Kerry as saying that the topmost priority was to end the violence in the Syrian city of Aleppo. During the past 10 days, more than 250 people have been killed in Aleppo.
Syria crisis: UN warns situation in Aleppo has become catastrophic
April 29, 2016: Following an airstrike on a pediatric hospital in Syria which killed 50 people, the United Nations has warned that the situation in Aleppo has become catastrophic. As per media reports, Aleppo has witnessed intensified fighting in recent days. Staffan de Mistura, the UN special envoy to Syria, said that with violence intensifying in Aleppo and three other areas a humanitarian disaster is unfolding.
