May 5 , 2015
Renewed efforts to revive the Syrian peace talks are set to begin in Geneva.
Staffan de Mistura, the UN envoy, will meet representatives from the Syrian regime and certain rebel groups along with key regional powers such as Iran and Turkey, media reports said.
Meanwhile, Amnesty International has accused both the Syrian government and rebels of committing war crimes in Aleppo city.
The devastating civil war in Syria has killed over 220,000 people since March 2011. An estimated four million Syrians have fled the country.
