Syria: 25 al-Nusra Front rebels killed in mosque blast in Idlib, say reports
July 4 , 2015
Around 25 members of al-Nusra Front, an al-Qaeda affiliate, have been killed in a blast in Syria’s Idlib province, according to activist group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The explosion occurred at a mosque in Ariha city in the north-western province, the UK-based activists say.
The cause of the blast has not been confirmed. A senior al-Nusra leader is believed to be among the dead.
Ariha was captured by Islamist rebels in May. Most of Idlib is now in rebels' control.
