Sweden introduces border checks to control flow of migrants
November 12 , 2015
Sweden has introduced temporary border checks to control the influx of migrants into the country.
Anders Ygeman, the Swedish interior minister, said the decision was taken after the police warned that a surge in new arrivals would pose a threat to public order.
The Swedish move comes as leaders from the EU and Africa are meeting in Malta to discuss ways to check the flow of people entering Europe.
Meanwhile, 14 migrants died when their boat sank between Turkey and the Greek Lesbos island.
