Supreme Court allows Arizona to execute its convict
July 23 , 2014
The Supreme Court of the United States has allowed Arizona to execute a convict who wanted information about the lethal drugs that would be used to kill him, as per media reports.
Joseph Wood, who was convicted of murdering his girlfriend Debra Dietz and her father Eugene Dietz in 1989, had argued that the refusal by the state to name the drug-maker was in violation of his rights.
His execution was halted after an appeal court agreed with his contention. But the Supreme Court ruled Wood’s execution could go ahead.
