An estimated 60 people were killed and dozens injured, when a suicide bomber blew himself up near the Pakistan-India border post, the site of a popular flag-lowering ceremony, on Sunday, October 2, according to media reports.
The deadly attack took place as people were leaving after attending the ceremony at Wagah. Most of those killed were civilians. Three members of the paramilitary force, Pakistani Rangers, also died.
The bomber reportedly blew himself up on realizing he would not be able to cross the security check-post.
