South Sudan releases over 300 child soldiers

More than 300 child soldiers were released on Wednesday by armed groups in South Sudan. This has been considered as the second largest release since the civil war which began five years ago. The released children include nearly 224 boys and 87 girls. According to United Nations this “laying down of the guns” ceremony is considered as the first step in the process that should see at least 700 more child soldiers free in the upcoming days.
