South Korea: Hospital identified as major source of MERS as death toll reaches16

The death toll in South Korea’s MERS outbreak has risen to 16, with five new cases detected and a total of 150 cases confirmed.
Samsung Medical Center, a hospital in capital Seoul, has been identified as a major source of the virus, following which it suspended a majority of its services. Song Jae-hoon, the hospital president, has issued a public apology.
Meanwhile, a South Korean national who had shown MERS-like symptoms in Slovakia has tested negative for the virus but will be kept under quarantine.
There is no known cure for the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).
