Shia Houthi rebels abduct Yemini president's chief of staff

  • Yemen’s Shia Houthi rebels abducted President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi’s chief of staff in capital Sanaa on Saturday, media reports said.

The rebels claimed that they seized Bin Mubarak to prevent the collapse of a deal between them and the president that was brokered by the UN.

The Houthis have warned president Hadi of carrying out “a series of special measures” to prevent the deal from breaking.

The truce between the two sides had come into force in September.
