Saudi Arabia lifts Curfews Partially except in Mecca and Neighboring Areas

Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, has eased curfews in many parts of the country in the wake of the holy month of Ramadan. However, the Saudi administration has continued with the 24-hour lockdowns in Mecca and neighborhoods. A royal decree issued on early-Sunday through the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that the curfews (outside Mecca and neighboring areas) from 9 am to 5 pm local time (0600 to 1400 hours GMT), starting from April 26, 2020, till May 13, 2020. The new royal decree by the administration of Saudi Arabia also eased the lockdown by allowing reopening of commercial centers/malls and wholesale/retail trade stores. The construction companies, as well as factories, have been allowed to reopen and carry on their normal activities without any time restrictions. However, the royal decree hasn’t allowed reopening of businesses where physical distancing can’t be achieved such as “beauty clinics, barber salons, sports and health clubs, recreational centers, cinemas, beauty salons, restaurants, cafes, and other activities”. The law enforcers have been instructed to maintain social distancing.
