Russian opposition parties join hands to take on Putin
April 18 , 2015
Two opposition parties have come together in Russia to challenge president Vladimir Putin ahead of next year’s elections.
RPR-Parnas, the party that was founded by murdered opposition leader Boris Nemtsov, is joining hands with the Party of Progress, which was established by Alexei Navalny, an opposition activist.
Nemtsov, a former Deputy Prime Minister, was shot and killed in February. The murder shocked many Russians.
The two opposition parties have called upon other opposition groups to come together to reject “lies, corruption and aggression.”
