Pompeo's Meeting in Pyongyang Doesn't Turn Out Well

  • The last week visit of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Pyongyang has turned out to be a disappointment. Apparently, there has been no progress on the denuclearization talks and White House reportedly feels the visit to be gone as bad as it could. A director of the Defense Posture Project at the Federation of American Scientists, Adam Mount, has stated that “By now it's abundantly clear that this approach is a dead end. The White House has essentially tried to shoot for the moon and total disarmament, and it's clear that North Korea is not only not willing to do that, but sees very little reason to take steps in that direction.”
