Philippines braces itself for Typhoon Hagupit
December 4 , 2014
The Philippines is bracing itself for Typhoon Hagupit, which is expected to make landfall on Saturday, according to media reports.
Hagupit has been consolidating over the Pacific as it approaches the region that was hit by the devastating Typhoon Haiyan last year.
With wind speeds reaching 170kmph, Hagupit may become a category 4 storm. Thousands of people have been urged to move to emergency shelters.
Haiyan had left behind a trail of death and destruction in November 2013, with over 7,000 people either dead or missing.
