Pascha, Europe's Largest Brothel Filed Bankruptcy
September 5 , 2020
One of Europe’s largest brothels, Pascha, has filed for bankruptcy after being hit by Germany’s anti-Coronavirus measures. Armin, director of the brothel, said: "We are at an end." Pascha is a 10-storey building that is a major landmark in the city of Cologne. Prostitution has been prohibited in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia since the outbreak of COVID-19 as a safety measure. Pascha is home for nearly 120 prostitutes and employs around 60 staff. Mr. Lobscheid condemned German authorities as officials would tell them to shut every two weeks. "We can’t plan like that. We might have been able to avert bankruptcy with the help of the banks if we had been promised that things could start again at the beginning of next year." He also added that "people have still been selling sex during the pandemic but without taxes being paid."
