Paris climate deal is 'best chance we have to save planet': Obama

  • US president Barack Obama has described the Paris climate deal as the “best chance we have to save the one planet we have”.

He said the “ambitious” agreement reached after two weeks of intense negotiations involving nearly 200 countries was possibly a “turning point” in facing the global challenge of a low-carbon future.

“Together, we’ve shown what’s possible when the world stands as one,” Obama said.

The Paris deal aims to limit global warming to less than 2C.
