Officials Blame Lack of Funds for Fire in Brazil Museum

  • The blame for the huge fire, that has destroyed the 200-year-old museum in Brazil, has been placed on the lack of funds by the officials. The Rio de Janeiro museum was known for having one of the world's largest natural history and anthropology collections. It is believed that the remains of the earliest discovered remains in Latin America of a woman are also engulfed in the fire.

Experts, however, have been warning of fire risk to the building for years. Deputy director of the museum has stated that “We never had adequate support.”
