Obama appeals to Congress to approve Ebola aid
December 3 , 2014
President Obama has urged Congress to grant approval to $6 billion in emergency help for battling Ebola in West Africa, according to media reports.
More than 6,000 people have died of the deadly disease in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea, according to the WHO reports.
The president’s appeal comes as the Medecins Sans Frontieres slammed the global response to the crisis, describing it as slow and patchy.
The medical charity criticized countries who did not deploy their “biological-disaster” capabilities despite possessing them.
