North Korea sentences Canadian pastor life for crimes against the state

  • A 60-year-old South Korea-born Canadian Christian pastor has been sentenced to a life term of hard labor for crimes against the state by the highest court of North Korea. The Toronto-based pastor, Hyeon Soo Lim, was arrested in Pyongyang after he traveled there in January for humanitarian work. Earlier, Lim was shown at a news conference where he confessed to a plot to overthrow the government and establish a religious state.
