Nigerian student escapes Boko Haram captivity
September 26 , 2014
A 20-year-old woman kidnapped by Boko Haram has become the first among some 300 students captured in April to have escaped from the militant group in north-eastern Nigeria in many months, reports said.
However, the circumstances surrounding her escape are not clear. The victim was “dropped off” by a group of suspected militants in Adamawa state, the police said. She was later reportedly found wandering in a village.
More than 275 girls and women are still believed to be in captivity after they were seized from Chibok secondary school by Boko Haram.
