April 7 , 2016
Aung San Suu Kyi has been given a position in the government of Myanmar. As per media reports, the new position has been specially created for her, which is expected to permit her to rule by proxy. The Hluttaw, Myanmar's parliament, created the post of State Counselor for Suu Kyi. The position, which makes her accountable to the parliament, allows her to contact ministries, organizations, departments, associations and individuals. Objecting to the creation of the new post, the military says that it violates the separation of powers that have been laid out in the constitution of the country.
