Netanyahu apologizes to Israeli-Arab voters for controversial remarks
March 24 , 2015
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has apologized for his election-day warning that the Arabs were “voting in droves”.
In a message on Facebook he had claimed that left-wing groups were getting Arabs “in buses” to vote.
Netanyahu said that he did not mean to offend Israeli-Arabs, and admitted that his remarks had “hurt some Israeli citizens”.
However, a coalition of Arab parties has rejected his apology.
The Obama administration had earlier criticized Netanyahu’s “divisive rhetoric”.
